Met up with Michael! We toured around the neighborhood he was staying in and wandered into some high-end retail stores. Glasses by Gentle Monster (worth about $500 USD). The famous Shibuya crossing! Woke up to snow the next day! We decided it was going to be a museum day... View from the top of the MORI Art Museum building. It was clear when we came out of the museum - off to the Meiji Jingu Garden. After a stop for some crepes, we ended up at this cool brewery called Watering Hole, and saw that they had a Fremont Brewery sign on their wall! After spending some time on the bustling streets of Shinjuku (if you know, you know), we enjoyed okonomiyaki. This dish consists of layers of fried vegetables, meat, seafood, noodles, and eggs cooked on top of a thin flour pancake. The restaurant had a stove right at our table. Our last full day! We spent the morning wandering around a trendy neighborhood and wandered into a 3 building book store/lounge/restaurant/cafe. Another day, another market. Made it to the Yebisu Garden Palace! Got a large flight each and enjoyed the ambiance. Micheal as photogenic as ever. After finding food, we explored a brightly lit garden hidden in an eerie, large hotel. Last morning before the airport - it was such a delight to find Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. More garden! Our last moments with Shohei Ohtani at the airport (he was actually on every billboard and poster across Japan).
